Rehabilitation

Restoring your horse to full health and peak performance takes understanding, expertise and experience. Here at The Jaeckle Centre our specially trained staff and state-of-the-art equipment can help you optimize your horse’s recovery. Choosing the correct rehabilitation therapy for your horse is an essential part of the recovery process. We can work with you, your trainer and your veterinarian to set up a therapy regimen that will help you achieve your recovery goals.

THERAPY EQUIPMENT

AquaPacer

The AquaPacer Equine Underwater Treadmill System was developed to help equine athletes achieve peak performance. The AquaPacer workout is unparalleled for therapeutic healing and conditioning. Horses are encouraged to use the same muscles, ligaments and tendons that are employed in traditional land-based exercise, but without the stress and trauma. For early intervention, improved performance and reduced rehabilitation time, the AquaPacer is the answer.

ECB Equine Spa

The ECB Equine Spa is a self-contained unit that uses cold salt hydrotherapy to treat and prevent lower leg injuries. The spa is aerated and chilled to a constant 35° F. The hyper-cooled saltwater reduces limb temperature and inflammation. As the legs re-warm after treatment, blood flow greatly increases to the affected area. The soothing salt solution also acts as a hypertonic poultice, reducing heat, while having a natural healing effect on wounds. The ECB Equine Spa is ideal for the treatment of muscle, connective tissue and tendon injuries, as well as conditions of the bone, hoof and joints.

Pegasus Therapy Laser

The Pegasus Therapy Laser is the most powerful and deepest-penetrating therapeutic laser available in the arena of equine physical therapy. Laser therapy enables a quicker recovery post-workout and offers effective multiple treatment applications and results; from the relief of pain, to the improvement of inflammation and swelling within muscles, joints, ligaments and tendons, as well as the ability to accelerate the healing of wounds. Superior treatment, faster recoveries from injury, and performance enhancement are all possible through the Pegasus Therapy Laser System.

Magna Wave Therapy

Magna Wave PEMF (Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Field) therapy can be used to help regenerate damaged or diseased tissue. The Magna Wave method of action is that it uses electrical energy to direct a series of magnetic pulses through injured tissue to help stimulate cellular repair. The Magna Wave can be used to improve circulation, increase blood oxygen, stimulate the lymphatic system, relax muscle spasms, relieve tension, enhance muscle tone and increase the range of motion in high performance horses. Magna Wave therapy is safe, non-invasive and has no side effects.

Solarium Therapy

As well as providing a pleasant experience, a solarium is a useful piece of equine therapy equipment. The solarium uses short-wave infrared heat. The same heat produced by the sun, only without the harmful UV rays. Solarium treatment provides a valuable source of vitamin D, which is essential for joint and bone health. Solarium therapy can also be used to complement the natural healing of a horse. Additionally, some horses exercise better if they have had a session in the solarium beforehand.

Performance

Ensuring your horse is competing at the peak level of performance takes understanding, expertise and experience. We offer different performance optimization packages designed to support your horse with strengthening and therapeutic treatments that will optimize his or her health and performance. Our knowledgeable and highly experienced therapists will work with you and your veterinarian to create a custom program to achieve your performance goals.

PERFORMANCE EQUIPMENT

AquaPacer

The AquaPacer Equine Underwater Treadmill System was developed to help equine athletes achieve peak performance. The AquaPacer unites two powerful tools to achieve accelerated conditioning: the natural properties of water and hydrokinetic exercise. Horses are encouraged to use the same muscles, ligaments and tendons that are employed in traditional land-based exercise, but without the stress and trauma. Effective at developing back and hind end muscles, the AquaPacer is an excellent performance-enhancing workout.

ECB Equine Spa

The ECB Equine Spa is a self-contained unit that uses cold salt hydrotherapy to treat and prevent lower leg injuries. The spa is aerated and chilled to a constant 35° F. The hyper-cooled saltwater reduces inflammation and limb temperature more effectively than traditional icing. As the legs re-warm after treatment, blood flow greatly increases to the affected area. By regular use of cold salt hydrotherapy, immediately after hard exercise, many of the stressors within tissues are removed before inflammation develops. The ECB Equine Spa is ideal for post-workout injury prevention and the treatment of muscle, connective tissue and tendon injuries.

Pegasus Therapy Laser

The Pegasus Therapy Laser is the most powerful and deepest-penetrating therapeutic laser available in the arena of equine physical therapy. Laser therapy enables a quicker recovery post-workout and offers effective multiple treatment applications and results. From the relief of pain, to the improvement of inflammation and swelling, faster recovery and performance enhancement are both possible through the Pegasus Therapy Laser System.

Magna Wave Therapy

Magna Wave PEMF (Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Field) therapy is ideal for helping to relax muscles, reduce inflammation and eliminate pain. The Magna Wave method of action is that it uses electrical energy to direct a series of magnetic pulses through injured or inflamed tissue to help stimulate cellular repair. The Magna Wave can be used to improve circulation, increase blood oxygen, stimulate the lymphatic system, relax muscle spasms, relieve tension, enhance muscle tone and increase the range of motion in high performance horses. Magna Wave therapy is perfect as a pre or post workout therapy. It is safe, non-invasive and has no side effects.
